Using Windows Mobile Device as Modem for Internet Connection

Windows Mobile PDA phone can be used as a modem which enables us to get mobile internet connection via GPRS, 3G or HSDPA depending on the carrier that we use. In this tutorial I configure my HTC Touch HD as a modem to be able to connect to the internet from my notebook. This tutorial should work with other Windows Mobile based PDA phone.

Who doesn’t know USB sticks? A tiny device that we use every day to store our data, mp3, video, etc. and travel with it at ease. Although we all know USB sticks or USD thumb drive, I’m sure that many of us don’t know how USB sticks are manufactured.

Installing VNC Remote Desktop on Centos VPS

In this tutorial we’ll install Gnome desktop and VNC server on Linux Centos Virtual Private Server (VPS). You need to install Gnome as the desktop for Linux VPS, this way you’ll get Graphical User Interface to manage your VPS or just use it as remote desktop. The VNC server is the remote control software that allows you to connect to the VPS Desktop.

1. Install Gnome Desktop, VNC Server and Xterm.

yum groupinstall gnome-desktop
yum install vnc-server xterm

It will take some time to install the Gnome Desktop as it quite big packages.
