Mozilla Released Thunderbird 3
The long waited open source email client Thunderbird 3 is now released! Upgrading from Thunderbird 2 to Thunderbird 3 is very easy and almost automatically.
Once you finished installing version 3, you’ll see Migration Assistant page with explanation of 3 new features worth knowing about. In my testing as I’m using IMAP, Thunderbird show its IMAP synchronize option and offer an alternative to not synchronize to save disk space and data traffic costs.

Search and Replace Inside Multiple Files, Multiple Subdirectories
Doing search and replace for a text in a file is easy, but it will become a tedious task to do if you have multiple files in several subdirectories. You’ll need a small program to do this and I have found one small program that works like charm.

Paint.Net Free Image and Photo Editing
Average computer user mostly do simple image or photo retouching such as cropping, rotate, resize, adding text, giving simple effects, etc. in this case Adobe Photoshop would be overkill and way too expensive to buy. A free software that I found is Paint.Net, which is surprisingly powerful for everyday image editing.

Google Picasa the Best Image Viewer
Google Picasa is the best image viewer that I ever use, and best of all is free. It’s very easy to manage photos and images using Picasa. When you install Picasa, it will do searching on your computer for images and photos then list and categorize it based on the folder name where your photos or images are stored.
