Creating Free Web Survey Using Google Docs

Using Google Docs’ Form document, we can create an online survey for free without having to know technical thing such as programming and web design. Using Google Docs’ Form you can create the survey using WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface, which making it easier for you to create a survey. What you need to do is just typing the question and chooses what type of answers you wanted from peoples that fill your survey.

To start creating web survey, go to Google Docs: docs.google.com and login using your Google account, if you haven’t have it you can register there, it’s easy and free.

After you login, click on New > Form

Google Docs New Form You’ll see the form editor, here you can fill in the question, help text for your question and question type. Based on your question type, you’ll need to fill in the answer choices.

Google Form have this question types:

  • Text
  • Paragraph text
  • Multiple choices
  • Checkboxes
  • Choose from a list
  • Scale

After you finish making your survey, click on Save button and you can share the survey link to your friends or put it on your website. As an example here is the survey that I created: TalkWebID Survey

The survey result will be saved on an spreadsheet document inside Google Docs, you can also see the summary of the survey results.
